First of all I would like to say great blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you do not mind.
I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your mind prior to writing.
I’ve had difficulty clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out.
I truly do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to
15 minutes are usually lost simply just trying to figure out how
to begin. Any suggestions or tips? Appreciate it!

The trick is to just start writing with no self-judgment whatsoever. “You have to keep the surgeon out of the delivery room!” Also there’s a Korean director who writes scripts by putting a bunch of images he likes on a table and then finding a way to connect them. I sit down and start with an image- a half-memory or a feeling or a phrase that’s in my head. It needs to come from my unconscious, because if I try to execute a predetermined plan it comes out stilted. You just need a spark to get off and running! Hope that helps!
